Keeping up with news and new resources in the library field has become increasingly difficult over the past decade. This is so for numerous reasons. More content has been written within our field, more resources have become available, and the means to publish information is as easy as ever. Fortunately, the tools that are available to assist the information professional in keeping up to date have also increased in number, visibility, and efficiency. This keynote address will discuss the methods librarians have used to keep current throughout the years and how they have changed with new technology. Tools such as web site monitoring software, Weblogs, and RSS Feeds will be discussed and demonstrated.
